Job Description

Hastings Home Builders is looking to hire 1-2 skilled, versatile carpenters familiar with the construction industry. Our carpenters are required to complete many different tasks, including, but not limited to:

 

  • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients

  • Install structures and fixtures, such as walls, windows/doors, and moldings

  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, metal, plastic, and other materials

  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames

  • Erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and heavy equipment (i.e. cranes)

  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures

  • Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers

 

Compensation

$18-$20/Hour Depending On Skill Level and Qualifications

Qualifications

 

   Education                              High School Diploma (Required)

                                                   Apprenticeship Program or Combination of 4 Years Work Experience (Recommended)

 

   Years of Experience            2-4 Years of Previous Carpentry Experience

 

   Other Qualifications          Communication, Attention to Detail, Problem-Solving, Dexterity, Physical Strength                                                                                                       Masonry, Metal Working, and Mechanical skills are a plus, but not required

 

   Physical Requirements      Must be in shape and able to lift 50-75 lbs.

CONSTRUCTION LABORER

Hastings Home Builders, Inc.

Job Title:           Construction Laborer

 

Supervisor:        Michael J. Hastings

 

Job Description

Responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for the erection of structures and buildings. Unloads and loads materials, tends machines, mixes concrete, pours concrete, and assists carpenters, operating engineers, and other construction site workers.

 

On-site Construction Laborers demonstrating a willingness to learn the carpentry, as well as other on-site trades and taking initiative on the job site may qualify for training and promotion into a skilled carpentry position.

 

Compensation

$11-$13/Hour Depending on Qualifications & Experience
